Catherine Vaillant

Catherine is a Franco-Ontarian law student recognized for her sustained commitment to access to justice and the Francophone legal community.

During her studies at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, she worked at the Community Legal Clinic as a caseworker within the criminal law division. This experience enabled her to develop practical skills in advocacy, file management, and supporting vulnerable clients.

Highly involved in student life, Catherine serves as Editor-in-Chief, Administration, of the Ottawa Law Review, where she contributes to advancing legal scholarship. She is also a member of the executive team of the Regroupement étudiant de common law en français (RÉCLEF), where she has held the position of Communications Coordinator for a second consecutive year. In addition, she is a member of the organizing committee for the academic competition Place à la jeunesse for a fourth year, serving as Vice-President of Governance and Public Relations.

 

FUN FACTS

During the academic year, Catherine is a member of an advanced hip-hop dance crew within the University of Ottawa’s recreational dance club.
